Our business plan greenspace delivers 2010 - 2013 sets out our strategic direction.

greenspace scotland has been influential in shaping a supportive policy context for greenspace and promoting good practice on greenspace delivery. Surveys of public attitudes to greenspace indicate that across urban Scotland our greenspaces are getting better. The direction of travel is positive, but there is no room for complacency. Scotland’s urban environment is still not consistently or equitably beneficial for communities. Our work with partners has identified a range of barriers and bottlenecks which constrain action on greenspace.

Our focus over the period of this plan is to support partners to deliver and manage quality greenspaces and to lead partnerships to develop exemplar projects. We will pioneer and support best practice, demonstrate success and raise aspiration about what can be achieved. We will do this through two interlinked programmes of supporting delivery and demonstrating success. The result will be more better quality greenspaces which make a real difference to people’s lives.
