the need for action
for too many communities, quality greenspace is a postcode lottery.......
- too many communities are still blighted by wasted spaces and purposeless green deserts
- our housing stock is being improved but that investment isn't mirrored in the greenspace, leaving people looking out over derelict wastegorunds
- there's activity on individual projects but not enough strategic planning and coordinated action
- communities are not always involved in the design and management of their local greenspaces
- securing revenue funding to resource maintenance and active management remains a challenge
