This popular bird-watching hide on the shore of Loch Leven, within the National Nature Reserve was burnt down on 18 February.

NatureScot have teamed up with MyParkScotland to launch a crowdfund to raise the £35,000 anticipated replacement cost.

The hide on the shore of Loch Leven, in the National Nature Reserve and on the Heritage Trail close to Kinross, provided outstanding views across the loch, a focal point for short walks from the village, and a resting place for those on a longer circuit of the loch.

Built in 2011 and situated on the edge of Kinross behind the Todd and Duncan factory, had won awards for its architectural design. It was a much-loved place for locals and visitors alike to enjoy some of the best views of the loch and the large numbers of birds congregating on the water.
