A new piece of research published today highlights that when it comes to understanding the relationship between nature and wellbeing we need to understand how an individual perceives that nature.

Highlights from the study are:

  • The study assessed how changes in perceptions of green space relate to changes in well-being
  • This is the first time this relationship has been investigated within a longitudinal study
  • Perceiving greater quantity of green space is associated with improved well-being
  • Subjective measures of green space should be included in future studies
