Led by Social Farms & Gardens with £1.27m Welsh Government funding (till June 2023) this partnership project puts communities and their greenspaces at the heart of developing localised food systems.

It will test what communities can achieve - given the right support, access to land and freedom to do what they do best.

There are six main areas of work:

  1. Building a National Allotment Development Team
  2. Innovative Food Hubs
  3. Productive Community Orchards
  4. Greener Corridors and Spaces
  5. Exploring Community Access to Farms and Land
  6. Building Horticultural Future Farming Skills

Eight organisations are collaborating, bringing their networks, research and expertise to lead delivery on the various workstreams:

Open Food Network UK
Development Trusts Association Wales
Landworkers Alliance
