In 2019, the RHS will support a number of intergenerational partnership projects between community organisations and schools/youth groups, who want to work together to transform an unloved space in their area to benefit the local community and environment.

Successful applicants will receive hands-on support from the RHS Outreach Team, plus up to £500 worth of plants and materials per project.  Hands-on support can be tailored to meet the needs of your group but may include some or all of the following:

• Help to plan your project
• Horticultural/planting advice – for example to develop planting plans appropriate to your site conditions
• Help to source reputable suppliers of plants and materials
• Purchase and delivery of plants and materials to your project site
• Help to engage a wide range of people with your project, through consultation, workshops and training
• Advice on how to maintain your project in the future

Applicants will be asked to show how their transformation project would fit in with one or more of the following themes:

• Grow for People: create a garden to help promote better health and wellbeing
• Grow for the Planet: create a garden that will help to address local environmental issues
• Grow for Wildlife: create a space for wildlife to boost local biodiversity
