Every year,  Spring Clean takes place during the months of April and May. During this time, Keep Scotland Beautiful’s Clean Up Scotland campaign brings communities, businesses, schools and individuals together in a big push to take part in Clean Ups and surveys across Scotland’s parks, beaches, roads, rivers and streets.

Last year, 30,000 people took part in Spring Clean events, a growth of 12%. With your support, KSB want to make this year the best yet!

The problem
• £53m of public money is spent on addressing litter and flytipping in Scotland each year
• 167 incidents of flytipping occur in Scotland every day
• Dog fouling amounts to over 100,000 tonnes each year

Our solution
• Help build community pride, educate and support individuals through community Clean Ups, particularly during April and May for our Spring Clean
• There will be a number of themes to focus on this year, including Beach and Park Clean Ups, Active Clean Ups
supported by Sustrans and Jog Scotland, and a Roadside Litter Week of Action, as part of our ‘Give your litter a lift’ campaign.
