greenspace scotland, on behalf of The Steering Group, is seeking to commission an artist/artistic partnership with interest and experience working with individuals and communities (both geographic and communities of interest) particularly with reference to the relationship between greenspace, health and community.

The initial commission is to undertake an artistic engagement process, connecting with a wide range of individuals and organisations, to co-design an artistic statement and concept to inform the development of a Memorial in Pollok Country Park and that could be utilised by communities and other organisations for greenspace sites across Scotland.

The artist will have experience in working with other creative professionals and be able to collaborate where required and be comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders on themes such as family, loss, bereavement and health in an inclusive, sensitive, confident and professional manner.

We are seeking an artist/art partnership who can demonstrate socially engaged practice and innovation in working digitally, both as a mechanism for engaging and collaborating with stakeholders and as a means of sharing ideas and outputs. The Steering Group is looking for an artist who can evidence a strong track record of working with communities and engaging participants on themes such as health, family, loss and bereavement in an inclusive, supportive and professional manner. 

It is anticipated that the Commission will be from May to September 2021.

Responding to the brief:
Expressions of interest are required by noon on Friday 19 March 2021. The EoI should include outline response to brief, artist’s statement of practice and evidence of previous experience. Shortlisted artists will be invited to submit a proposal.
