Park Managers Forum was kindly hosted by Glasgow City Council at Bridgeton in the city’s East End, for a real world event with two overall themes:

  • connecting, reconnecting and sharing;

  • and greenspace and densely urban areas.

People had opportunities to meet and share information on current projects and priorities, as well as a peer consulting session.

We also had a guided walk and talk looking at a range of urban greenspaces around the Bridgeton area, led by Rachel Smith, Glasgow City Council and Niki Spence from Clyde Gateway, the local regeneration company.

A resource on the walk tour containing photos and maps is available to view and download here.

The day ended with informal networking and conversations over tea and coffee at the fantastic Glasgow Women’s Library, where we had a chance to visit their garden, temporary orchard, and art in Glasgow International, the city’s biennal contemporary art festival.
