Since 2015, greenspace scotland has facilitated the Park Managers Forum - a professional network of over 200 greenspace professionals from 30 local authorities across Scotland, with the majority of members working directly within councils. The Forum supports the professional and operational development of park managers and related colleagues – enabling them to share practice across council areas, develop skills and explore challenges so that they can more effectively and efficiently manage Scotland’s parks and greenspaces.
It fosters professional networks, facilitates shared learning, and supports consistent, high-quality park management nationwide. We also use the forum to host a variety of events online and in-person, including workshops, study tours, and expert briefings. Some key topics that we have covered at previous events include Nature Towns and Cities, Open Space Strategies, Play Sufficiency Assessments, and rewilding.
In March 2026 we launched a new digital platform within Microsoft Teams for members of the forum – The Urban Green Links Network. We established this platform to allow members to easily interact, share knowledge, and access useful resources. If you work for a local authority and are involved with or have an interest in greenspaces and would like to become part of the Park Managers Forum, we’d love to hear from you.
If you’d like to join the forum, please complete the form below. After we have received your details, you will be added to our mailing list and our dedicated channel on Microsoft Teams.
