This week saw the greenspace scotland team facilitate a session on community placemaking and young placechangers at the Architecture + Design Scotland (A+DS) staff and board away day in Cumbernauld. We explored Cumbernauld House Park and peeked into Cumbernauld Glen making use of the community placemaking tool which was developed by Project of Public Spaces, New York and has been used in Scotland by greenspace scotland since 2005. We also used the Place Standard developed by NHS Health Scotland, the Scottish Government and A+DS comparing and contrasting the two tools and exploring how they are being blended with youthwork approaches in the Young Placechangers programme.
