The Scottish Government have launched a Flood Resilience Strategy consultation, which runs until 13 August. They have specifically invited views on on the best use of greenspace for flood resilience.

Green spaces, blue-green infrastructure, and natural flood management are all vital in developing flood resilient places and often deliver multiple benefits including improving biodiversity and providing community greenspace.

The consultation paper is set out around 3 key themes of people, places, and processes.

The Scottish Government plan to launch the Flood Resilience Strategy in Autumn 2024, covering the long term actions to create a flood resilient Scotland. It will be the first such strategy.
