How will donations to Parks4Life be used?

All of the donations will be invested to provide an endowment which will provide a steady source of funds for our parks. The investment income from the endowment will be used to support parks improvements, innovations, activities and projects; making sure our parks are kept healthy and happy for the future.

Once we reach the first £million, communities and other groups will be able to apply to the Parks4Life fund for grants to support their park projects and activities. The funds and grants will be managed by the trustees of the MyParkScotland charity. Funds will be distributed to support a range of different types of projects and activities in parks and greenspaces across Scotland.

Online Canopy Cover Recorder – The Woodland Trust

The Tree Equity Score Map launched in late 2023, highlights areas of inequality in access to trees and will help funders and communities redress the balance over time. Between February – May 2024 The Woodland Trust need your help to complete over 500 tree canopy cover assessments. Pick any available location from the list, and complete the assessment at a time that suits you - they only take around 1.5 hours to complete

Tesco Stronger Starts Grants

Up to £1500 funding for local projects. Currently prioritising projects that provide healthy food and activities that boost children and young people’s mental and physical wellbeing.
What is greenspace?

Greenspaces are the 'green lungs' of our towns and cities which contribute to improving people's physical and mental health by providing places for informal recreation and 'breathing spaces' to take time out from the stresses of modern life.
