Glasgow National Park City, a movement started in 2014, are ready to apply for National Park City status and they would like your ideas and support to speak with a collective voice on what more needs to be delivered together as a National Park City. The idea is to inspire a shared vision for Glasgow as a greener, healthier and wilder City for everyone - where people, places and nature are better connected.

Back in 2019 London became the first National Park City and, during 2020, the National Park City Foundation launched a target to have 25 National Park Cities by 2025. They set up the Journey Book Process through which cities could apply to achieve National Park City status.

Glasgow National Park City is ready to apply with the aim of further improving people’s quality of life and the environment equitably. The approach and application are about people - about a movement giving a voice, connecting and amplifying the fantastic work of community groups, charities and organisations in which the power, energy and ideas exist that are needed for a Greener, Healthier, Wilder Glasgow.

Here are some examples of projects that the partnership has delivered to date: Glasgow Urban Nature Map, Clyde Climate Forest, Lost Woods COP26, online Gallery and Wee Green Screen lockdown showings.

If you are an existing supporter, or would like to become one; if you'd like to volunteer and be part of the application; if you have a project idea or if you'd just like to know more, they would love to hear from you.
