Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust Strategic Plan for 2024–2029 launched earlier this week at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute, during an event celebrating the benefits of greenspace and its role in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The strategy outlines four key priorities for the next five years.

  1. Greenspace & People: Deliver accessible, biodiverse, and climate-resilient greenspaces through projects, partnerships, and community engagement.

  2. Climate and Nature: Develop and implement projects addressing climate change and biodiversity loss, including supporting local biodiversity action plans, woodland creation, and green corridor development.

  3. Active Travel: Promote green active travel projects and encourage greater use of the active travel network.

  4. Health: Provide accessible and inclusive health improvement programmes, with a focus on disadvantaged areas, mental health, physical activity, and community-growing initiatives.
