The National Lottery Heritage fund are today celebrating the "great outdoors" to mark the the 25th Birthday of the National Lottery.

We would like to join in by thanking the National Lottery Heritage Fund for not only the support they have given to parks and greenspaces across Scotland but also their support to greenspace scotland in the creation the Park Managers Forum.

Initial funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund in 2015 enabled greenspace scotland to set up the Park Managers Forum. The Forum has proved extremely popular and is a valuable resource for park managers supporting the professional and operational development of park managers – enabling them to share practice across council areas, develop skills and explore challenges so that they can more effectively and efficiently manage Scotland’s parks and greenspaces.

As well as regular meeting to look at the range of issues facing parks and greenspaces across Scotland the Park Managers Forum has also been able to carry out study tours to areas such as Helix Park in Falkirk, Castlebank Park in Lanarkshire, Saughton Park in Edinburgh and the new park development at Ravenscraig in North Lanarkshire.

So we would like to say thankyou and Happy Birthday to the National Lottery Heritage Fund!!

Since the initial funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund the Park Managers Forum has been supported by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and sponsorship from idverde.
