This work was part funded by the Periurban Parks Project (part of the European Union's InterReg IVC programme) and also received support from the Scottish Government’s Climate Ready Communities pilot. The project identified:

  • range of energy saving options
  • improvements to the park aimed at drawing in the local community and reducing their need to travel elsewhere for recreation
  • a suite of climate adaptation actions relating to surface water management; localised temperature control and increased habitat connectivity.

These management changes have been incorporated into the Management Plan for the Park and the Business Plan for the Friends of Hazlehead.
