A new free-to-use online natural capital resource has been launched by Defra - Enabling a Natural Capital Approach (ENCA). It brings together and makes accessible a wide range of selected guidance, tools, data and case studies to enable decision-makers and appraisers to better value and account for natural capital in the UK. Included in the resource is a guidance document written for those who are looking to learn move about natural capital and environmental valuation. 

The resource aims to 

• build capacity among users to assess and value the natural environment by providing comprehensive information and resources
• reduce search costs for analysts and decision makers
• provide a platform to update tools and guidance as knowledge develops
• identify new evidence and areas for development
