OUR NEW PROJECT - URBAN GREEN LINKS

Urban Green Links: Innovating Collaboration for Greenspace Networks is a project led by greenspace scotland and supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund, launched in Spring 2025. 

The goal of Urban Green Links is to build the knowledge and capability of people and organisations to create, improve and maintain high quality, nature-rich, climate-friendly urban greenspaces in Scotland. 

Through a programme focused on collaboration, communication and cultivation this project aims to: 

• Increase understanding of the value and benefit of greenspaces 

• Strengthen peer to peer collaboration between greenspace professionals and those responsible for creating, improving and maintaining greenspace 

• Advance greenspace practices to benefit people, nature and climate 

• Enhance recognition of the valuable role played by professionals involved in managing and improving greenspace  

Urban Green Links envisions a legacy of stronger professional networks, a shift in greenspace development and maintenance, and lasting community and environmental benefits across Scotland. 

Over the term of the project we are aiming to deliver 

• A digital knowledge hub for PMF members with new resources and content 

• A variety of engagement and knowledge sharing events 

• A peer-to-peer local authority advice service 

• A campaign celebrating 10 years of Park Managers Forum 

• A link to the wider UK work on Nature Towns and Cities
