Winners of the SNH and Scottish Forum on Natural Capital short film competition have been announced.

SNH and the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital (SFNC) hosted the “Why invest in nature?” short film competition in 2019, seeking entries that would encourage businesses to see the benefits of the natural world. The contest was open for young people aged 16-30.

The motivation for the overall winner was as follows:

“Deciding on an overall winner was a tough decision, with so many great short films. The entry we’ve chosen is timely, with a message we all need to hear at the moment. It’s very well put together, flows nicely and every shot brings something new to the film. It highlights the sector’s impact and dependencies on nature, and provides solutions that speak to a business audience. It encourages all of us to aim higher, and truly answers the question – why invest in nature?”

You can find the overall winner Gregory Vaux’s short film “The Nature of Farming” as well as the other category winners and specially commended videos on the competition’s website.
