The Veg Cities campaign are looking for donations of amazing Glasgow-grown fruit and veg to be used as ingredients for the Chef's Challenge competition. This could be almost anything that could be used in a dish, from fruit and vegetables through to flowers.

Glasgow Community Food Network, deliver the Veg Cities campaign in Glasgow, an initiative designed to promote the consumption of local and seasonal fruit and veg in Scotland. Each year, around harvest time, they host a Chef's Challenge event bringing together chefs from across Glasgow to cook with some of the amazing produce available at this time of year, grown in community gardens within Glasgow.

The fruit and veg could be almost anything that could be used in a dish, from fruit and vegetables through to flowers. Previous competitors include Ox & finch, Eusebi's, Cail Bruich and more. It's a great chance to make contacts with other chefs in the city and with growers and producers from across Glasgow. It helps to promote the growing scene in the city and to encourage seasonal and local consumption of the highest quality produce.

The event truly highlights the importance of locally grown food and short supply chains within Glasgow. They would love for you to be a part of it! If you are interested please contact Grant Reekie, Veg Cities Campaign Lead, Glasgow Community Food Network.
