Voting for the annual competition to find Scotland's Tree of the Year for 2020 has been opened by the Woodland Trust.

For 2020 the 5  finalists were chosen by a panel of judges who considered 50 trees - about double the usual number - nominated by the public. The finalists are...

  • The Climate Change Tree, near Alloa
  • The Lord President's Oak, near Inverness
  • The Millarrochy Oak, Loch Lomond
  • Queen Mary's Thorn, Fife
  • The Survivor Tree

The winning tree will succeed last year's winner of a lone elm, named in homage to JRR Tolkein's Lord of the Rings.
