A Young Placechangers training day was held for Angus Council staff. It was attended by CLD (Community Learning & Development) staff, and by a local planning officer.

Led by Helen Reid at Angus Council CLD team, staff developed a Pilot Programme that was delivered to seven young people with additional support needs from Montrose High School. The young people all received a Hi5 award. This pilot of delivering Young Pacechangers in schools was positively received by the school and the team were then invited to deliver another programme for S1 pupils.

Young Placechangers puts young people in the lead role – bringing together the wider community to look at local spaces and plan improvements. The Young Placechangers programme has used a co-production approach to develop and pilot a training and support programme enabling young people to transform both the place they live, their relationship to it and the wider community.
